  The Episcopal Church
The church's understanding of it's purpose is stated in the Prayer Book catechism.

The mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.

If you want to know what the Episcopal Church's faith is look at the worship. The official standard is the Book of Common Prayer. The Catechism of the Episcopal Church summarizes the faith in a question-and-answer format.
