Scott has served in urban parishes for all 20 years he has been ordained. He is rector of St. Philip's, Durham, NC.  In addition to his M.Div., he has M.S. in Urban Affairs with a concentration in leadership of urban organizations. He has served as a trainer of diocesan consultants in Virginia and directed the beginnings of a diocesan church development program there. He has led numerous leadership retreats for parish vestries in Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina. He has also worked with congregational leaders in other denominations. Scott is  a member of the Order of the Ascension.
