Serving dioceses in a ministry of congregational development

Members of CDI Trainers are available for discussion on beginning a Church Development Institute in your diocese. Most also serve as consultants to parishes and dioceses on organization development and congregational development. If you are interested in a private contract please make direct contact with one of members.

A Certified Trainer/Consultant of CDI Trainers

Trainer/consultants are certified by CDI Trainers based on the following criteria.

1. Completion of the CDI, and four weeks of workshops with LTI or NTL in human interaction, group development, design skills,  consultation skills. or conflict management. Or equivalent programs accepted by CDI Trainers. Serve as a CDI intern trainer for at least a cycle.

2. Substantial experience and advance training. Maintains an active relationship with the fields of Organization Development and congregational development.

3. Conducts programs in a manner that meets all CDI Trainers criteria (e.g., regarding approach, spirituality, format, content, ethics, quality, hospitality, goals, evaluation, etc.).

4. Uses approved program materials.

5. Actively participates in CDI Trainers -- a process of continuous improvement of training designs, trainer competence, etc.

6. Maintains a collaborative relationship with the sponsoring diocese and CDI Trainers.

A Senior Trainer of the Leadership Development Institute

All must have

1. Completed most LTI workshops. Served as an intern and then a co-trainer for several years.

2. Substantial experience and advance training.

3. Conducts programs in a manner that meets all LTI criteria (e.g., regarding approach, spirituality, format, content, ethics, quality, hospitality, goals, evaluation, et
c.).

4. Uses approved program mater
ials.

5. Actively
participates in CDI Trainers -- a process of continuous improvement of training designs, trainer competence, etc.

6. Maintains a collaborative relationship with the sponsoring diocese and CDI Trainers.

As part of the merger between the two groups -- The norm for new trainers doing CDI's or LTI work would be that they need to have completed a CDI and done at least four experiential workshops with LTI or another agency.
